Vanessa | Founder
Vanessa is a postpartum doula, newborn care specialist, and founder of Doula Care AZ. My work is shaped by my own early experience of becoming a mother without the support every family deserves. Feeling those gaps firsthand is what ignited my commitment to walk alongside others during one of the most tender and transformative seasons of life.
Since starting DoulaCareAZ in 2022, I’ve provided more than 5,000 hours of hands-on postpartum and newborn care, completed DONA International and Newborn Care Solutions training, and built a practice grounded in emotional attunement, trauma‑informed care, and evidence‑based guidance. My focus is on helping families recover, rest, and confidently bond with their baby—whether that means overnight newborn care, feeding support, gentle sleep foundations, or nurturing the birthing parent through the fourth trimester. If you’re preparing for postpartum or navigating the early weeks with your newborn, I’m here to offer steady, compassionate support so you don’t have to do it alone
Serene Augustine is the founder of Atoctli Birth & Wellness, a birth and postpartum doula, and a student midwife devoted to guiding families through life’s most profound thresholds. Her work is rooted in traditional Indigenous and ancestral postpartum wisdom, blended with evidence-based care and a deep reverence for the sacredness of birth and the early postpartum window.
Her philosophy centers on the understanding that the first forty days after birth are a ceremony of restoration, a time when the body repairs, the spirit integrates, and the family steps into a new season of identity and connection. Through the Sacred Postpartum Restoration Series: The First 40 Days, Serene offers a holistic approach to healing that honors the womb as the original home and the mother as the heart of the family. Each session is designed to gently close what was opened, restore what was given, and nourish the birthing person with intention, warmth, and cultural grounding.
Serene’s background includes certifications in Birth and Postpartum Doula Care (Wombs of the World), Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PSI), and Loss and Bereavement (Cihuapactli Collective). She also holds a B.S. in Kinesiology and is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach, allowing her to integrate body mechanics, movement, and nourishment into her care.At the heart of her work is a commitment to restoring the village—offering care that is holistic, heart-centered, and culturally rooted, so every family feels held, respected, and supported as they cross the threshold into parenthood.
